How to Remove Quarantined Warning from Reddit

NOTE: The following tutorial is for educational purposes only 😉

If you are a member of a “quarantined” subreddit on Reddit, after awhile you may get annoyed by the big warning at the top that says “this community is quarantined…”.

I have found one way to get rid of that warning using the addon/extension called uBlock Origin.  It’s very easy to use.

Step 1: Install the uBlock Origin browser addon/extension

If you use Firefox, you can download the addon here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin

If you use Chrome, you can download the extension  here:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm/related?hl=en

Step 2: Visit the quarantined subreddit that you wish to remove the warning notice from

Once the desired subreddit has loaded, click on the little red shield in the upper right area of your browser:

Next click the little dropper icon that looks like this:

Next place your mouse up and to the left of the yellow triangle warning exclamation point until the entire quarantined area is highlighted in red like so…

Then click the “Create” button and the filter will be created.

Step 3: Enjoy!

If all goes well the quarantine warning should disappear.  If not, try reloading the subreddit.  In order for this to work, you have to keep the addon/extension active.  If you remove it, the quarantine will show back up.

Of course, there may be better ways to do this, so I’ll keep my eyes peel in case I find a better solution.  🙂
